Torog Moltenthroat is still part of daily life in his faction, kind of. He lives at the very bottom of the volcano, on an island surrounded by a roaring river of lava with currents so strong that anything falling in vanishes instantly. Only Torog can cross it with ease. But hey—he’s around. The monsters in his faction know exactly where to find him. They could die if they try. But he’s definitely there.

Thing is, Torog considers his job done. Before he stepped in, the Fiery Forces weren’t even a real faction. They were just a scattered band of scorched misfits with no focus or sense of purpose: too dangerous for forest creatures, too destructive for city monsters. No one wanted them around. Even their neighbors across the mountain chain, the Rocky Peaks and Summitfolk, kept their distance. Born from the volcano, the Fiery Forces were doomed to stay in it.

That changed when Torog befriended—and eventually allied with—Diabolus Hellbringer. At the time, Diabolus had hoarded so many souls that they were spilling uncontrollably from Hell. Desperate, the Underworld Ancestor reached out for help. Torog agreed to organize his chaotic kin and turn all his fellow fiery monsters into guardians of the Gates of Hell.

He didn’t think they’d go for it. But they were starved for purpose, and they jumped at the chance.

For years, Torog served as the bridge between the Fiery Forces and the Underworld Dwellers. But eventually, he got bored. He handed things over to Kaih the Sunmelter (then known as Kaih the Eradicator) and retreated to his volcanic hideout with his pet, Lavrador.

These days, he only emerges to visit his old friend Diabolus, who is now completely mad and mostly just screams. But that suits Torog fine. Diabolus doesn’t ask questions. He doesn’t pry. He doesn’t care. And that’s exactly how Torog likes it.
