Octalia was once renowned within the Cosmo Civilizations for its elite soldiers, most famously the Octex. Their contributions to joint missions earned them great riches, and, as the intelligent civilization they were, the Octalians used those riches to refine themselves and advance beyond the other groups in the faction.
They organized into efficient subgroups: scientists, military experts, and philosophers. The philosophers, in particular, developed a unique worldview, gradually forming a religious devotion to Abominations and other cosmic forces. What began as philosophy evolved into a cult-like following: The Sons of Cthulhu. Their philosophy eventually swept across the entire civilization of Octalia.
Yet even at their most eccentric, the Octalians never lost sight of battle. That balance was possible only thanks to Exarch Quor. This formidable leader had his influence in every subgroup: he joined the scientists in their labs, sat in on military strategy councils, and conversed with The Sons of Cthulhu for hours. The rest of Octalia accepted his leadership without hesitation.
Naturally, the Octalians’ progress drew attention, though not all of it favorable. Brigadier Holter and the Skeels felt their status threatened, and rightly so. Mater Geneza, whose own power had been bolstered by the rise of Nebotus Evil Lord, believed Exarch Quor to be far more valuable than Holter. She even convinced the Evil Lord to grant the Octalians his blessing.
So rest assured—this will not be the last you hear of Exarch Quor.
