Zepaimon loves the delicious agony caused by torturing poor souls in the Underworld. The pain he causes gets stored in his hump; it nourishes him more than food or water. You might say he’s even addicted to its intoxicating effects, because his love for it is so strong that he’s refused promotions three times, preferring to be the one directly punishing souls instead of calling the shots.

Even among the Underworld Dwellers, Zepaimon’s zeal for evil is notorious. It’s said that if he were to rise up in Hell’s hierarchy that Barbatos Rex would have him killed, because he’d be a true threat to Barbatos’ throne.

Publicly, Barbatos has nothing but compliments for Zepaimon’s work. He says he just wants to keep his loyal, hard-working minion happy. Perhaps the steady stream of victims he sends Zepaimon’s way is a gift to that end…or perhaps it’s a way to keep a potential rival busy and distracted. Regardless of Barbatos’ intent, Zepaimon seems darkly delighted with the current state of affairs.
