Many monsters overlook the diminutive Phusis. She’s small and fairylike, and easy to dismiss as weak or fragile based on her appearance. Seen from a distance, she looks like a little girl. But what only the oldest monsters know is that Phusis isn’t just stronger than she looks—she’s phenomenally powerful.

Phusis is the most primeval embodiment of Nature itself, an independent creature who is also an avatar of creation magic. She embodies all aspects of Nature, but nothing so much as its resilience. A blossom may wither and break apart, but that only scatters the seeds of its renewal, and Phusis is much the same. No matter how hard she’s hit, she always springs up again, and often stronger than she was before.

While she isn’t fond of settlements or the monsters who live in them, Phusis is often seen in conference with Eternal Bastet, advising her on the state of wild things and how the currents of magic are currently flowing. While she’ll never fully join Bastet’s council, she has a strong interest in keeping Free Reigns monsters from causing trouble in the wilderness, so they’re often obligated to work together for safety’s safe.
