Red Badge: You will see a red badge indicating that a piece of any rarity is available for an empty slot. The red badge will appear both on the Squad screen and the Gear screen on top of the Gear slot.

Green Arrow: You will see an upward green arrow on the 'Equip' button and on top of the Gear slots when an equipped piece of Gear can be upgraded, and you have the necessary resources to do so.
