Mother to Countess Flawless, mother-in-law to Count Vlad, and Dame of Monstelvania—a town that was nothing but a small village inhabited by shepherds before her arrival.
Dame Batoriova was the daughter of an outrageously rich looter vampire. She and her father had everything they could possibly wish for—except a name and a reputation. Because of this, it was what Batoriova craved more than anything in the world. So she gave herself a title, a position, and a land. She had the money, so she just had to buy the rest!
She bought the land, kicked all the shepherds out, and filled their houses with her servants, who happened to be other vampires, werewolves, and other dark creatures. Once all her peasants were in place, she had them build an enormous castle—because she could. And she decorated it lavishly—again, because she could. Once the castle was built atop a hill, where it could be seen from other important lands in Petra, all she had to do was give herself a title—because she could. So she did: Dame Batoriova, Lady of Monstelvania, land of monsters in the truest sense of the word.
Of course, all of this got her name where she wanted it, and Petra started paying attention to Monstelvania and its ruler. She finally had it all: the money, the peasants, the name, and the land. She also had influence, but that was something she didn’t buy. She worked for it, started going to gatherings, and learned secrets about the rulers of other lands, forcing them to include her in their negotiations if they didn’t want their secrets revealed. Brilliantly evil!
Then, as Monstelvania grew, so did its life, independent of its ruler. A new ecosystem of vampires rose, to Dame Batoriova’s dismay, led by a thug (Batoriova’s words, not ours!) named Cain. He bit many monsters and created a crew around him, including a guy named Vlad… a guy that Dame Batoriova’s daughter, Countess Flawless, happened to fall in love with. He wasn’t as bad as Cain, and he had a desire for riches and a luxurious life that reminded Dame Batoriova of herself. He married Countess Flawless and polished himself to rise to his new position.\n
In a strategic move, Dame Batoriova allowed him to take the lead and control all the vampires in Monstelvania. He even managed to get rid of Cain. But he also managed to take possession of many other things. Dame Batoriova had created competition for herself. She retired from social life and turned to alliances with other factions, but it’s hard to create alliances between evil factions. They never trust each other fully. The strongest alliance Monstelvania had was with the Dark Blades, but that was broken when Dame Batoriova and Anwir Paincraver started a relationship that was passionate in the beginning and full of hate in the end.
Dame Batoriova retired to her coffin for a hundred years, feeling that the legacy she had built no longer belonged to her. But now, she’s woken up—and she’s eager to shake things up! Righteous factions have the strongest alliances and rule everywhere, so it’s time to propose a real alliance between evil factions. If anyone can start the conversations for such an alliance, it’s Dame Batoriova. If anyone can turn Monstelvania into the epicenter of the Universe of Monster Legends, it’s Dame Batoriova. And if anyone can organize a historic event, it’s Dame Batoriova.
